Hurt, Yet Being Held.

Everyone goes through dark, lonely times in their lives. Some stay there longer than others. But the key is that we go through. It just depends on how long we want or don’t want to stay in the valley of the shadows of darkness. For some though it takes more effort and strength to go through than we believe we have. So instead of fighting, we just get comfortable there.

The thing is we are not there all alone. God is with us and surrounding us. Holding us. We may or may not feel it, but He is. When I look back at times of my life when I felt I was just here on this Earth with no purpose and life was just passing me by, God’s word reminded me that He loves me. He put me here for a purpose. I may not know what it is, so my purpose may just be to help someone else with their purpose. So I just followed His lead with Him holding me.

Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

Psalm 94:17-19 NKJV

We don’t need to settle in silence, hurting from the pains of tragedy or despair, but just believe that God is helping us. When we slip, God’s mercy holds us up and helps us to get back up. He is our comfort. Our help in times of trouble. He heals the brokenhearted. Sets free those who are oppressed. He doesn’t just want to hold us together, He wants to hold us as His child.

So this is just a reminder that when you think that the world around you is just passing you by and could care less about you; God sees you and is there for you, and always has been. He is holding you even though you may not feel it. He is holding you by His word and all the promises in it. When multitudes of anxiety that are within us come our way, our souls can delight in His comfort.

Blessings!
