Changing The Atmosphere

There are people that walk into a room and the atmosphere can change in a second. For the good or bad. You know what I’m talking about. When they show up, negativity is in their suitcase. Not a small one at that, but crammed full, and they plan on unpacking everything in it. Their mission is to bring everyone down, and shatter all hope; that no matter how positive you may be, they dismiss any chance of a good outcome. Dread has filled the atmosphere!

Then there are those that light up a room and fill it with what they bring with them. A charge is brought into the air and everybody seems to get happier. They have a kind and friendly smile. They are truly concerned and offer encouragement, and somehow everyone just seems to feel better when they are around. It’s almost infectious. It’s astounding how the atmosphere can change by what is brought into it.

What if we were not one of the above mentioned room atmosphere changers? Maybe we just go with the flow of the winds. If everybody is up, then we are too, If everybody is complaining, we break out our notes and join the party. Just content with the room temperature whatever it may be.

I believe God is looking for atmosphere changers. Ones that will bring His Spirit with them wherever they go. A life source producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (ref. Gal. 5:22). Ones that resign from the complaining committee. Speak kind and encouraging words. Have a genuine compassion for others. Show their faith in God by speaking life into hopelessness. They radiate Godly qualities that convicts others of their shortcomings in God, not vocally or in a condemning way, but by living the example of Jesus. It’s so compelling that they are wanting what we have.

I know it’s extremely hard to be up all the time, and it’s difficult sometimes to resist the social complaining gatherings. But no matter where we go, we can strive to be the atmosphere changers through God’s power, anointing, and direction. Lord, help us to change the atmosphere wherever we go.

Blessings!
